Biography

I am an orthopedic surgeon with broad expertise in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. I often see patients who are experiencing pain in their shoulders, knees and legs. I also address arthritis and care for patients who have suffered sports-related injuries.

My patients can trust that I will do all I can to help them return to the activities they love. Treatment plans are always customized based on the individual’s goals and values.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/3/2025, John McGrail has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
