About Me

As a rheumatologist, the diseases I treat generally affect the whole patient. So when it comes to care, I like to use a patient-centered approach. I specialize in treating vasculitis, systemic lupus, erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and other reactive spondyloarthropathies, myositis and enteropathic arthritis, which is associated with inflammatory bowel disease.

Some of my research interests include improving clinical outcomes for vasculitis and lupus, shared decision making and patient-physician communication database research.

The best part about working at Ohio State is that every day is different. I’m able to teach many types of people, from patients to fellows, as well as conduct research to improve my patients’ health outcomes.

I have three children, two dogs and a general surgeon husband, so most of my free time is spent staying active, being around family and traveling.

Seemed to be in a hurry. Not really paying attention. Did not check any joints or my injured shoulder. Didn't ask if I needed refills or meds.

Dr. Meara was fantastic. Very thorough, yet efficient. She is thy first provider I've seen (in over a month of dealing w/this issue) that developed a Tx plan!

The part of the appointment with Dr. Meara felt incredibly rushed, and a lot of my concerns were just brushed over.

I don't feel like Dr. Meara really takes my health complaints seriously. Frustrated leaving her office because it feels like she doesn't believe me.

The doctor was annoying. The intern and resident were great. They looked up my info. to find out why another doctor recommended me.
