Biography
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). I practice out of the Ohio State Internal Medicine and Pediatric clinics in Grandview and Hilliard. I work as an integrated part of the medical team providing short term mental health counseling. I also collaborate with the psychiatry and primary care team to ensure that patients are well linked with services and to assist with psychiatric collaborative case management.
I provide a supportive nonjudgmental space when engaging patients in therapy. I utilize a person-centered approach that focuses on a person’s strengths. I also utilize several evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and solution focused therapy.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Ohio University and her Master of Social Work from The University of Cincinnati. Alison has over 15 years of experience that has focused on providing crisis management, working with children and families and with patients with anxiety and depression.
