About Me
I’m a board-certified ophthalmologist, vitreoretinal surgeon, and fellowship-trained retina and uveitis specialist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I’m interested in diagnosing and treating different eye problems, including diabetic retina disease, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment, as well as inflammatory ocular conditions.
I practice evidence-based medicine with a patient-centered approach. When patients are engaged and take an active role in bringing their concerns and perspectives into their health care, it makes the patient-doctor relationship very special. I am committed to providing the best care to my patients in a highly personalized manner, having care and time as top priorities.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. Very good experience
The first person I spent time with was great. Personable, professional and enthusiastically answered my questions. The second gentleman I was in the tests with was less talkative. (Maybe he was just having a bad day.) The doctor, while I'm sure was an expert in her field, was less inclines to explain the details, but that could be because most people don't want or need all the details. However, when I asked, she cerainly expounded on things.
Doctor was fine. Maybe a little fast.
Dr. Suelves, I believe, it a very good doctor but seems rushed for time and it's understandable because of the amount of patients and the long wait times patients endure.
She's excellent! Great caring person who truly takes pride in her work. She's great!

No problems with Dr Suelves. She was genuinely interested in my well being and tried to spend time in spite of her busy schedule. I am a bit disappointed that she wouldn't do another eye injection since my left eye is more blurry than three months ago. However, I trust her judgement.
Dr. Suelves is extremely smart and always handles my complex case with respect; able to come up with solutions to help my eyes. She's extremely nice and always helpful, even when I know she has an extremely packed day.

Provider always seems rushed and abruptly ends the appointment. Does not explain to me what she is seeing in my eyes, but there are conditions marked in red in my after care summary that have never been explained to me. Am only told , "eyes look good", but never mentions my cataracts, other Irregularities, etc. I think she cares, but there is a disconnect in her delivery and the lack of information shared with the patient during an appointment. I don't feel like she sees me as a real person - with a job, family, etc. I'm just a set of eyes that sees her every 8 weeks.
Dr. Sualvez is very thorough and attentive.

I had an appointment with Dr. Barbara Michalak at the Olentangy office who did a thorough exam and referred me to Dr Saba in Dublin to evaluate if there was a retinal tear in right eye. He examined me, then asked Dr. Suelves to see me. After exam, she said the vitreous was separating but no retinal tear. She instructed me on sxs of a tear. All doctors, technicians and nurses/assistants were very kind and caring. They squeezed me into their late afternoon schedules in Dublin to be sure my vision was not in danger, and I greatly appreciate that.
Great assistance was provided during the review of my vision challenges.

Dr. Svelves is the best
Doc is amazing! She's spot on, encouraging and, in my opinion, truly cares about the patient. Few today take the extra minute to explain things completely and answer questions honestly. Shh always does. I'm blessed and there really aren't enough words.

Dr Suelves was very gentle with my eye injections. She seems to generally care about her patients. She was very encouraging and friendly. Her assistant also numbed me very well and was very sweet.

After about 90 minutes of prep (pupil dilation, photos), the actual meeting with Dr. Suelves was about 5 mins. This was just barely enough time. I got clear information because I knew what to ask, but about 2 more minutes would have been helpful.

Everything went very well and I feel like I'm in the right hands for the first time. This is the 6th provider I've seen for this issue. All the other providers did not help me which lead to my eyes deteriorating, pressure going up and now I have a cataract. This could've all been prevented.

Dr. Suelves is an excellent provider. My condition is very hard to treat, but she always advocates for me and what's the best treatment at the time I'm coordination with rheumatology.. I'm very grateful to have a provider know what's actually going on with my eyes.
Was very professional
This was one of the worst experiences I've had in a doctors office. I was there for a total of 4 hours and 20 minutes. I saw Dr Suelves for maybe 10 of those minutes and was ready to discuss what we were going to do about the cataract that I found out I had over MyChart when I messaged her letting her know that my left eye was completely blurry. Not only did she not discuss a plan for that, she left the room to discuss things with Dr Kenol and didn't come back to make sure I didn't have any questions. Their plan was to increase the medication I told them I felt horrible on as well as give me more steroids which I was informed in the appointment that they cause cataracts.
Dr Suelves is GREAT. We are very fortunate to have such a knowledgeable optomalagist.
