About Me

As a neurologist, I specialize in treating patients for various headache conditions, including migraine headaches. This is an exciting area with many new treatments available and it’s a privilege to use my extensive experience to make a difference in my patients’ lives.

I have been active in research efforts for many years and have presented my work before the International Headache Society. I am currently involved with several studies focused on migraines in adolescent patients.

My role also includes helping to train future headache specialists. I am a clinical professor at The Ohio State University and medical students work with me in the clinic.

When I’m not working, I enjoy raising and showing registered American Quarter Horses.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Pakalnis has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
