About Me
As a primary care physician, I specialize in care for the entire spectrum of life from newborn to end of life. I believe that health means something different to a lot of people and that health is made up of the social, psychological and biological all wrapped into one. To treat a person fully, I provide care that encompasses all three areas.
I’m passionate about listening to a patient’s concerns and coming to a shared decision on how best to treat each individual so they can enjoy the quality of life they deserve.
I love that Ohio State provides a space for everyone, regardless of background or situation, and that we can all learn from each other and work with world-class multispecialties to create a plan that is in the best interest of the patient.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading books, traveling to new places and hidden local spots, and spending time with my family and friends creating memories.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr. Bawer is incredibly patient and reassuring. She took time to explain my medication, dosage history, and some symptoms I was experiencing that I hadn't tied to my condition. She is the best MD I've ever seen, hands down.
Dr. Bawer was really down to earth and very approachable. She explained things very well and made sure I understood everything. I felt comfortable talking to her about things I that were bothering me. I appreciated how much she listened to what I had to say and to give me advice on things.
Dr. Bawer is amazing!
Dr. Bawer is easily the best PCP I have ever had. She is extremely intelligent, thorough, and easy to understand.
Knowledgeable friendly and courteous
The care provider I saw conducted a thorough family history questionnaire and asked detailed questions to ensure she understood me. She presented many care and treatment options for my concerns and was in no way dismissive of my concerns. She was considerate, professional, and solution oriented.
She took the time to listen to my concerns and was very helpful with solutions.
No problem with her at all

She was excellent. Spent a lot of time with me and explained everything in detail.
My doctor remembered my previous concerns and followed up. She gave me choices so I could have control of my health.
Dr. Barbara is very relaxed and I really like that. She likes to ease me into things instead of throwing medicine at me. She is also interested in wholistic solutions to my healthcare.
Listened well and took her time to establish relationship and talk about my concerns I gad
Felt appreciated as a person and a patient; listened and took my history into account to evaluate my current state symptoms.
She was late because of an earlier appointment, but she never rushed me during my appointment. I was very comfortable talking with her about my medical concerns. I was looking for a new primary care doc, and I no longer need to keep looking.
Everything was good, talked about my issues & concerns and she seemed to care a lot. Explained if I had any questions.
She is also very detailed and Informative and warm! Very Intelligent, reassuring, and seems knowledgeable.

I had the best experience with meeting Dr. Barash for the first time. She really seems to want to work with you to achieve maximum health.
She was awesome - listened to me, totally understands and agrees with my health goals.
I had a very pleasant time with Dr. Barash. She was warm and attentive, and when I expressed desire for a hepatic function test (been drinking more than usual), she didn't hesitate to order one. She also heard my mental health concerns (mild anxiety according to my screening), and she put in a referral to the psychiatric dept. I was heard, and all my concerns were addressed in one way or another. I'm happy to have found her and look forward to seeing her for future visits as my PCP.
Very caring.
Exceptionally good listener - suggested care not requested. Excellent provider!!
