About Me

As a primary care physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in LGBT-QI care and HIV care. I am a certified HIV specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine and provide treatment to those affected by HIV including antiretroviral therapy (ART) and PreExposure Prophylaxis for HIV (PrEP) for the prevention of HIV. I see patients for HIV and primary care at my Upper Arlington location, and provide HIV specialty care in the OSU Infectious Diseases Clinic at McCampbell Hall.

I have completed additional courses through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and provide gender affirming care including gender affirming hormone therapy and hormone blocking therapies for my transgender/gender non-conforming patients.

My other clinical interests include preventative health care and chronic disease management. I enjoy working with patients to help them achieve their long term health goals by focusing on heathy lifestyle changes.

I am originally from Western New York, but moved to Ohio in 2001. I joined the faculty in the Department of General Internal Medicine here at Ohio State in 2016.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and playing sports including volleyball, hockey, baseball and tennis. I am also a college football fan – go Bucks!

Dr. Pollack, is very attentive and he does a great job of anticipating questions and concerns and being prepared to discuss them with me. He also does a great job of creating a "psychological safe space" and genuinely seems to care about my well-being and any medical questions that I may have.

First visit with Dr. Pollak and enjoyed meeting him and working with him with my medical condition in the future.

Dr. Pollak is the most patient provider I have had. He also takes the time to address any & all concerns I have. I'm glad he takes the time, my last provider barely gave you 15 min. I usually left with more questions than I came in with.

I appreciate that Dr Pollak advocates health and wellness to the LGBT Community. This helped solidify my decision to schedule him as my doctor due to the specific needs of the people in this particular community. He made it easy to talk to about my specific health questions related to me and my relations with my partner.

I have lost many doctors over the past decade trying to stay w/in the OSU environment, as they move on to other practices. While most have been good, I have been amazed at the care Dr. Pollack provides. He reminds me of the General Practioner of yore where they really care about your whole healthy. He as been both a doctor and health coach. With his guidance (and the support of my family) I have lost more than 40#s this year and have established both modified eating and exercise routines that are now part of my lifestyle. This is one Doctor OSU SHOULD NOT LET GET AWAY!

Outstanding

Reviewed on Sep 23, 2017

Dr. Pollak isn't my doctor, so he had to do some catch-up. However, he asked a lot of questions, listened closely, and made what seemed to be reasonable suggestions. He also promised to talk with my usual care provider about our visit. He was friendly, professional, and explained things well. He also took my questions seriously and answered them clearly.
