About Me

As a primary care physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in LGBT-QI care and HIV care. I am a certified HIV specialist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine and provide treatment to those affected by HIV including antiretroviral therapy (ART) and PreExposure Prophylaxis for HIV (PrEP) for the prevention of HIV. I see patients for HIV and primary care at my Upper Arlington location, and provide HIV specialty care in the OSU Infectious Diseases Clinic at McCampbell Hall.

I have completed additional courses through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and provide gender affirming care including gender affirming hormone therapy and hormone blocking therapies for my transgender/gender non-conforming patients.

My other clinical interests include preventative health care and chronic disease management. I enjoy working with patients to help them achieve their long term health goals by focusing on heathy lifestyle changes.

I am originally from Western New York, but moved to Ohio in 2001. I joined the faculty in the Department of General Internal Medicine here at Ohio State in 2016.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and playing sports including volleyball, hockey, baseball and tennis. I am also a college football fan – go Bucks!

The purpose of the office visit was a regular office visit that had been rescheduled by me /and provider because of travel, etc. My chart worked well for me and calls from the office also were efficient. On this Tuesday visit I informed Dr. that I had felt sick on Monday and the day of the visit. He diagnosed the illness and prescribed a regimen and over-the-counter medications. Before we got far in checking me, we all put on masks.

Dr. Pollak is an amazing doctor. He has a wide breadth of knowledge. he is extremely easy to talk to and kind. He is exactly what you would want in a doctor.

10/10, Dr Pollak is outstanding! I could not recommend him highly enough to friends and family! He is responsive, cheerful, attentive, informed, honest about the limits of his knowledge and quick to grant referrals. He takes a patient-centered approach to health outcomes, which means he does not get hung up on specific numbers in regards to blood tests, and cares more about how the patient perceives her health and reaction to her prescriptions. There is NO WAY Dr Pollak would ever downplay the symptoms of a concerned patient as 'all in your head' or act dismissive or exasperated with a patient with a chronic condition. Other providers in the OSU system do not meet this basic criteria of patient respect, so I have to give him full marks!
