About Me

As a vascular surgeon, I enjoy the long-term care relationship that I have with vascular patients. I specialize in aortic and lower extremity interventions, including surgery and minimally invasive techniques, and always make sure I explain complex vascular diseases and procedures in a way that makes sense to my patients.

I'm the director of vascular research at the Ohio State College of Medicine. I have a breadth of experience that has allowed me to approach complex vascular problems in new ways. I have a longstanding research interest in developing novel stents to treat new surgical conditions. To date, my laboratory has created retrievable stents to treat traumatic bleeding, improve donor organ recovery for transplantation, modeling of aortic aneurysms and provide focused delivery of drugs. In addition, it has been a pleasure to pass some of my knowledge onto medical students in both clinical and research environments.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy cooking, gardening, being outdoors and spending time with my family.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
