I provide care for patients of all ages. I am board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine. I’m particularly interested in caring for patients with chronic childhood illness as they transition to adulthood. I believe these patients deserve physicians who understand their diseases and will work with them to overcome the challenges associated with becoming an adult with an illness that affects their life.
Working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center allows me to pursue my dream of providing excellent patient care. It allows me to teach medical students and residents the skills to become capable and compassionate physicians. And it allows me to develop new methods to care for patients with pediatric illness as they transition to adult-based care.

News about me
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 07/31/2016, Dr. Hanks has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
