A nurse practitioner is extensively trained to treat illness or disease and to prescribe medication to their patients. They work on teams with a licensed physician, but can treat patients with significant autonomy. Nurse practitioners work in a variety of settings, including primary care and various other medical and surgical specialties.

Not good. He informed me that I needed to see an interest, due to the medications I was taking. He left the room to let the nursing assistant that I needed some phone numbers and NEVER returned. I realize I have more than the usual health problems but I am tired of being treated like I'm a leper.

He does not judge or scold me and that has the resounding effect of encouraging me to actively do what is best to ensure my health maintenance. I wish to be the healthiest possible and he helps me to design a plan to do just that, by way of simply being genuinely engaged in my care. I trust him with my care; I don't want to disappoint him. I have only had that feeling about a healthcare professional maybe once or twice, in my life. I am satisfied and I would recommend him to friends or family who are seeking quality care.
