Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

He was not in a big hurry. He looked me in the eyes during the appointment.
All good. Easy to talk to

Had lots of experience very understanding
The best doctor for my condition
He is knowledgeable and caring. He does not rush his time with me.
Dr Hernan was unprepared for my "urgent" appointment. He didn't have the CT scans and kept emphasizing that it was normal for him to not have them. I was concerned that he should have the scans and also surprised that he hadn't read my chart or given any forethought to my visit which I waited about two weeks to see him. He was dismissive, condescending and frankly gave me a very uneasy feeling. I immediately wanted to leave the room and felt very put off by his demeanor and lack of preparedness which he tried to cover up by telling me it wasn't easy to get the scans and normal for him not to have them. The experience was absolutely terrible. I have never experienced such apathy and contempt from a doctor who I was referred to for help. I did express to him that I was concerned that he hadn't been able to properly review my case and offered to try to pull up the images on my phone. He didn't want to see them.
It is very important to me to trust my doctor and when I visit with Dr Herman, I trust what he tells me and I have confidence in the treatment plan that he gives to me. Thanks You, Dr Herman

Very good
He is very willing to answer any questions
My provider is always empathetic and informative, taking the time to explain my healthcare options and share a list of newly available medications that could help manage my chronic COPD.
I had nothing but good feelings about the staff, very helpful and on point.
