About Me

As a physician, I'm interested in sepsis guidelines, HIV in Latino populations, community development in underserved areas, and international public health.

I received my undergraduate degree in animal physiology and neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, my Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University and my medical degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I completed a predoctoral fellowship in osteopathic manipulation therapy. After that, I completed residencies in internal medicine and emergency medicine at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where I served as chief resident for one year.

My hobbies include international travel, all outdoor activities, gardening, reading, cooking, playing with my pups, binge online shoe shopping, and watching a movie in a cold theater on a hot day.

More About My Work

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Kauffman has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
