In 2013, I received the Teaching Excellence in Radiation Oncology Award. I am involved in teaching a number of undergraduate and graduate level courses. One of the undergraduate student groups that I advise and mentor won the award Best New Student Organization Award at Ohio State in 2013.
At the OSUCCC – James, we understand that expertise must be combined with the ability to reach across many disciplines. I enjoy working with medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists and researchers to create the best treatments possible for patients. No cancer is routine, and collaborating with other medical professionals is the only way to ensure our patients receive the best care possible for their individual needs.
My research focuses on complex radiation therapies. My most recent research focused on levels of experience in oncologists and recurrence rates in patients with head and neck cancer. We found that more experienced institutions create better treatment plans and have patients with better rates of survival. That’s why The James strives to create innovative research to improve prevention, detection and treatment of cancer in patients. Our excellence not only improves their experience at The James, but their overall quality of life.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/28/17, Dr. Wuthrick has reported financial relationships with the medical device, research and/or drug companies listed below. If you have questions about the relationships listed below, please ask the faculty member. If you have questions about how these relationships are monitored by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, please contact our Compliance Office at 614-293-7802.
