As a family medicine physician, my approach to patient care is centered on the belief that we treat patients, not just numbers or lab results. My goal is to educate and positively influence the health of my patients by taking the time to really listen while providing any input I can. I decided to specialize in family medicine because I find the opportunity to care for my entire community very rewarding. It’s fun to see parents and children together, and to better understand their lives and the details which impact not just their health but their overall wellbeing.
I enjoy working at an academic medical center like The Ohio State University because of the wide range of opportunities and resources available in clinical care, medical education and research. Once I am more established in my practice, I hope to expand my career into medical student and resident education.
In my free time, I follow a number of sports including Ohio State football, basketball, soccer, tennis and baseball. I’m a soccer enthusiast, Columbus Crew and Seattle Mariner fan, and recreational tennis player. I also love to bike, play bridge and eat ice cream. My wife Tracy and I recently moved to the Worthington area and enjoy getting out together and exploring the community. We also love spending time outdoors and hiking with our rescue dogs, Oliver and Waldo.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/01/2020, Dr. Jungwirth has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
