Biography

As an Internal Medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I am passionate about delivering the best care possible for older adults to help them maintain quality of life as they age. I specialize in treating patients with complex medical comorbidities and geriatric syndromes such as dementia, depression, frailty and osteoporosis, and I provide end-of-life care. I believe in a person-centered approach tailored to the individual’s unique needs, and my patients can always expect compassion and honesty when they see me.

In addition, I am involved in Ohio State’s Geriatric Inpatient Consult service, where I focus on preventing and treating delirium. My goal is to help patients recover as quickly as possible so they can go home, and to help them avoid adverse outcomes associated with delirium.

When patients are ready to leave the hospital, my role includes ensuring a smooth transition from inpatient care to rehabilitation to home. I am a proud member of our Post-Acute Care Services team, and I serve as co-medical director of two nursing homes and rehabilitation centers affiliated with Ohio State’s skilled nursing facility network.

I have a strong interest in developing strategies to improve transition of care in post-acute settings. I am also focused on finding ways to optimize care in assisted living and long-term care facilities. I am a member of the American Geriatrics Society and the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine.

My role also includes educating medical students, residents and fellows in Geriatric Medicine. I am a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and a core faculty member for the Geriatric Fellowship program.

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy traveling, watching movies, cooking and listening to music.
