About Me
As a neurocritical care physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I am passionate about contributing my skills to help save lives and I am dedicated to evidence-based medicine. I treat patients with acute neurologic conditions such as ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, brain aneurysms, status epilepticus, traumatic brain injuries and neuromuscular respiratory failure. My research is focused on neuroprognostication after cardiac arrest.
The neurocritical unit at The Ohio State University provides exceptional patient care through multidisciplinary collaboration. Multiple service lines and specialties, including stroke, critical care, neurosurgery and rehabilitation, work together to ensure each patient receives the highest quality care possible and I am proud to be part of the team.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an assistant professor of neurology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I enjoy teaching future physicians and during my training at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, I was honored with both the Best Teaching Resident and Best Resident Research awards in 2020.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and participating in outdoor activities.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Bittar has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
