About Me
I am a clinical rheumatologist specializing in diagnosing and treating people of all ages for various systemic autoimmune diseases. I commonly see patients for conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, axial spondylarthritis and mixed connective tissue disease.
My special focus is on utilizing musculoskeletal ultrasound to help identify and treat autoimmune diseases as early as possible. Early intervention can significantly improve patient outcomes, and I readily provide this option to my patients. I have extensive expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and certification in it from the American College of Rheumatology.
I provide patient-centered care that considers the biological, social and environmental factors that can influence a person’s health. My patients can expect individualized treatments based on their unique needs and values. In addition, I always provide education and resources so that my patients can feel empowered to speak up and take active roles in their care.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, kayaking, making pottery and exercising.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Thai has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
