About Me
Jess Henning, APRN-CNP, holds bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Science, and Geography and Planning. She completed an MS in Environmental Science and Health at the University of Nevada, Reno, focusing on climate change and water resources. After graduate school, she ran a laboratory for a gourmet vegetable farm, was a park naturalist and program coordinator, and taught biology at Bowling Green State University – Firelands. She obtained her Yoga Alliance teaching certification with additional specialty certifications in trauma and resilience (EMBER Program), addiction and recovery (Yoga of Recovery) and children’s yoga (Radiant Child Yoga).
Jess returned to school and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Nursing as a family nurse practitioner. She taught EMBER yoga at the Columbus YWCA as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow and worked with adolescents with congenital heart disease on a National Institutes of Health study through Nationwide Children’s Hospital during school. Post- graduation she completed the Ambulatory Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Jess splits her time between the Center for Integrative Medicine and Primary Care New Albany. She integrates a functional approach to treating the whole person with the aim of preventing, identifying and correcting “dis-ease” in the body. Her special interests include autoimmune, thyroid and gastrointestinal disorders and the interplay between the natural environment, human health and behavior. She is working toward completing the Institute of Functional Medicine’s Practitioner Certification Program.
When she isn’t seeing patients, you can find her biking, paddling and hiking, and spending as much time as possible outdoors with her rescue dog (Whoa) Nellie!

This care provider is a CNP that I made an appointment with because I'm having some serious health problems and have visited Integrative Medicine in the past with good results but this provider isn't doing anything except bloodwork which I don't even get the results of until I go back in 3 months. So far my bloodwork has been good but she hasn't given me insight as to what is going on with me, she just tells me she don't know.
Jess is very knowledgeable and helpful
Good listener who was able to give guidance for my best wellbeing.

She is extremely knowledgeable about my condition and options to treat it. She is very supportive and respects my opinions.
Jess is awesome. She actually listens to what I have going on with my body & tries to find the culprit causing my issues vs. past doctors that just went to give me a pill to cover up the issue. I appreciate Jess's approach.
Jess is a fantastic provider! She is attentive, knowledgeable, & compassionate. She treats the whole person & offers practical tips in dealing with chronic illness.

Excellent visit with Jessica Henning. She listened to me and spent enough time to explain things about my treatment plan.
Informative
Developing an excellent patient relationship with Jessica Hanning. Her knowledge of the microbiome, gut health, blood & urine is extremely helpful. I highly value & regard the health care.
She was thorough but a bit condescending.
First time meeting Jess. I don't live in Columbus. My daughter, who does, recommended Jess as a second opinion to address recent health concerns. Jess was much more thorough than my regular provider. Had reviewed my records and had suggestions for further testing if concerns persist. Also gave me a wealth of information about things I can do now to improve my health. Very thorough and very personable.
Very thorough and took the time to spend with me vs. Trying to rush through the appointment. Asked what my overall health goal was.
I have gone to this office for many years. There have been drastic changes in the past few years at this office. I don't feel as confident in this care provider as I have in other providers at this office. I recognize that she is new and is learning.
