About Me
I am a neurosurgeon who specializes in treating patients with epilepsy and movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia. I’m passionate about helping my patients regain function, and it’s a privilege to improve their quality of life in meaningful ways. My patients can also trust that I will take the time to educate them about their diagnosis and treatment options so they can be active participants in their care.
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is special because of its collaborative, cross-departmental approach to care, and I’m proud to be part of such an exceptional team. We offer a diverse array of cutting-edge procedures that benefit patients, and we ensure patients have access to the most innovative clinical developments.
My research interests are studying human neurophysiology to better understand the mechanisms of seizures and epilepsy. I am also interested in uncovering how brain stimulation affects the brain’s functions and changes its connectivity. My goal is to use these findings to develop improved treatments for neurological disorders.
My role includes helping to train future physicians. I am an assistant professor of Neurological Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and I mentor medical students and residents in both clinical and research settings.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Yang has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
