About Me

I’m a radiation oncologist with clinical expertise in treating non-small cell carcinomas of the lung, and a variety of breast carcinomas such as ductal, intraductal, hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and male breast cancer. I came to Ohio State in 2013 following medical school and my residency, both at Stanford University School of Medicine.

I’ve been honored to present my research findings at dozens of professional conferences since 2006, and have been published in a variety of medical journals such as International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Practical Radiation Oncology, Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Lung Cancer. I served as principal investigator for several clinical trials, including my most current research here at Ohio State (Multi-Institution Phase II Trial of Intraoperative Electron Beam Radiotherapy Boost at the Time of Breast Conserving Surgery with Oncoplastic Reconstruction in Women with Early-Stage Breast Cancer).

We have something special here at the OSUCCC – James — a truly collaborative spirit exists. We put egos aside and focus on the health and well being of our patients as we search for answers and cures. We strive every day to provide holistic, comforting care while focusing on each person’s specific cancer. We’re all focused on the goal of one day living in a cancer-free world.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/2017, Dr. Bazan has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
