About Me
Specialty care is a strength at the Ohio State University. I try to collaborate with my colleagues to provide the best neurological and neuromuscular clinical care and research options for my patients. I treat my patients as I would a family member, and I work hard to solve and treat their neurological conditions. I develop meaningful relationships with my patients by recognizing their value as a whole person rather than just their diagnosis.
As a neurologist, I specialize in neuromuscular disorders and electromyography. I find the nervous system fascinating and feel a great desire to help patients suffering from neurological and neuromuscular conditions.
I thoroughly enjoy the combination of academic and clinical environments here at The Ohio State University. This balance optimizes the quality of our patients’ care. It is a pleasure to work with the Ohio State medical students and residents. They help provide a team environment and even reenergize my passion for medicine.
When I’m not working, spending time with my family is always my top priority. My other interests include basketball, running and enjoying the outdoors.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Hoyle has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Took time to listen, explain and give explanation about my health care
Very thorough exam by the residents and Dr Hoyle. They listen very well and take time to explain.
Dr. Hoyle was very attentive and listened to everything I was saying. He arrived at an acceptable solution.
Dr. Hoyle is knowledgeable, kind, caring, concerned about my condition and total health. He is a great Neurologist in my book. I am fortunate to have him as my physician
Alsome best there is
I appreciated that Dr. Hoyle took his time and the visit was not rushed. I was glad we developed two new treatment ideas, including one idea that had never been suggested in over 4 1/2 years working with six specialties. I was frustrated at times with the conversation, as Dr. Hoyle and the resident both implied I came to the wrong place for treatment. I simply wanted neurology input since I have a neurological condition, so my decision always seemed sound to me. I was also very confused when he brought up a "dull, aching abdominal pain", when my pain is very thoroughly documented as burning and stabbing pelvic pain. The visit was definitely not great, but not terrible either. Afterward, he was responsive/helpful via messaging. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle on this visit.
Polite straight to the point!
Good listener, care and has genuine concern.
Love Dr Hoyle. Sincere, caring and smart.
Professional
The whole appt felt very rushed , the nurse assistant was very nice but only saw the doctor for maybe 10 minutes , didn't really get to talk about the health issues been having , he did what felt like a very rushed test ruled out everything without any tests, he mixed up what side I was having more issues on when he was talking so I felt like he wasn't really listening and then he several times made note that I needed to make lifestyle adjustments to lose weight and blamed all of my issues on anxiety which Isnt why I came In.I left feeling kind of upset and insulted.
Good experience, friendly and professional
All good it was difficult

Dr Hoyle has good listening skills and tried to understand and capture every symptom I described.
The Doctor listened to my concerns and health history. Never felt rushed. Had prepared ahead of time for my visit. Explained to me clearly what the next steps are. Followed up contacting me as stated.

Welcoming and professional
Very caring and interested in how I am doing.
Good
Dr. Hoyle is the best. He scheduled me on his lunch hour. We had to cancel twice because of sickness in his family but he was there to answer my questions and see how I was feeling after an injection 3 months earlier.
All good. He's to the point. No issues
He was professional & compassionate. Listened thoroughly & reassured me.
Dr. Hoyle responds to MyChart messages about prescriptions really fast and efficiently.

Dr. Hoyle is such a great dr.
Very good & understanding overall.
Dr. Hoyle listens to what I have to say and I feel like we come up with a plan of care that we are both comfortable with. He's the first doctor to make me feel like he wants to help me. I finally have some hope that I'll feel better.
