About Me
I chose to become a doctor because I believe practicing medicine is a duty and privilege. As an internal medicine physician, I strive every day to provide exceptional treatment to adults and children while they are in the hospital. My patients can always expect compassion and honesty from me. I value building a solid and trusting patient-physician relationship because I believe this leads to better care.
I love working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because as a top academic medical center, we are entrusted to handle the most challenging diseases and situations. I enjoy the opportunity to help advance the quality of care. As part of this goal, I serve as lead physician for the Division of Hospital Medicine Safe Cases, a physician-led review where we analyze cases and identify areas where we could improve patient safety and treatment quality and increase speed of diagnosis.
My clinical work strongly influences my research, which focuses on strategies to eliminate diagnostic errors. My role also includes helping educate future physicians. I am a clinical assistant professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Black has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
