About Me
I’m a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I care for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and help lead programs that improve care during and after critical illness.
My work focuses on making healthcare more connected, patient-centered, and accessible—especially for those recovering from serious conditions. I lead our Critical Illness Transition and Recovery Program, which supports patients and families as they heal after an ICU stay. Our team offers in-person and virtual follow-up visits, works closely with local providers, and helps create personalized care plans to ensure a smooth, coordinated recovery.
I also help lead our tele-ICU program, which uses real-time technology to bring critical care expertise to hospitals across Ohio. This allows patients to receive high-level care in their own communities, with the support of specialists from our academic medical center.
A key part of my work involves building partnerships between academic medical centers and community health systems. I’m passionate about creating programs that support collaboration, share expertise, and improve care for patients—no matter where they receive it.
I enjoy connecting with my patients on a personal level and learning about their goals, concerns and motivations. My patients can trust that I will work with them to create customized treatment plans that accommodate their unique needs, including virtual follow-ups.
Outside of the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, exercising, and exploring the outdoors.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Stinehart has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

I love Dr. Steinhart, he's patient with me, shows interest in my well being and very attentive to my concerns
Nothing but good things to say about Dr. Stinehart. Very helpful and understanding of all my issues.
He has taken care of my asthma for 3+ years. When he was relocated I followed him to the current location. I think he is great.
Dr Stinehart has a fantastic bedside manner. Hang on to him!
Doctor was very kind and took time with me and put me completely at ease. Excellent bedside manner and knowledgeable in his field
Friendly, listened, professinal, provided good counsel. Very helpful
Excellent
Very good. Very easy to talk to. Very concerned about my physical and mental health. Explained everything in words I could understand.
Dr. Stinehart is an amazing provider!
He's the best
Care provider was interested in my concerns which made me feel calm
I wish the provider was my primary provider. Very care and helpful.
Dr. Stinehart is great, discussed my asthma medication and we agreed to make a change to try to reduce the cost. He also wants me to follow-up and have a endocrinologist run some test and radiologist for test.
Kyle Stinehart has personally called me three times to discuss my pulmonary issues. That is very unusual for a doctor, especially a doctor who is as busy as Dr. Stinehart. He is the best physician that I have ever been treated by. I can't say enough good things about him.
Very knowledgeable and seem to care about my issue.
