About Me
As a physician, I love interacting with patients and believe the relationship between a patient and their physician is of vital importance. I’m passionate about sports medicine because I was once a Division I and semi-professional athlete, which gave me firsthand knowledge of both the capabilities—and also the limitations—of the human body in sports.
I believe in shared decision making with patients. This begins with active listening. I try to be supportive and to make evidence-based recommendations for diagnosis and treatment. Ultimately, once the patient is empowered with this knowledge, I guide them toward making informed decisions about their own health care.
In my clinical practice, I’m committed to the self-examination of cultural, social and personal influences on health care outcomes. I strive for inclusive practice of medicine and understand the importance of community context on individual health outcomes. I welcome patients from all identity groups, including those who identify outside of socially constructed categories of race, class, gender, sexuality, disability and national status.
At Ohio State College of Medicine, I’m an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. During my time as a resident and then sports medicine fellow, I was often involved in teaching students, so I’m excited to continue building connections with new students.
During my career, I have advocated at the state and national levels for the continuation of primary care residencies in Colorado because of the integral role primary care physicians play in the health care system. I hope to make more contributions to the state of medicine by studying injury prevention in college athletes.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching and playing all sports, laughing, and entertaining my 4-year-old rescue dog, Dottie Blue.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Excellent visit addressing my current multiple concerns
Dr. Doe gave me a thorough examination and spent time getting to know me and my health needs. She has fantastic bedside-manner. She used great attending skills such as empathetic listening. Use of reflection (restating/rephrasing my words to show she was listening). Positive affirmations, and use of unconditional positive regard (made me feel accepted & she expressed warmth & respect). This was y first visit with Dr. Doe, I am looking forward to continuing to see her for my care.

Dr. Doe has been a God send to me. After some negative experiences with a previous doctor, Dr. Doe has shown she truly cares and listens to what I have to say. I feel I can come to her with any health concern and be confident that she will address it to the best of her ability and treat me respectfully, she is the best.
Dr. Doe was very friendly and conversational and made me feel comfortable while getting to know me as this was my first visit with her for general primary care. She explained to me that on the first visit that she wanted to get to know me as a person and learn about my past health history, as well as getting an update on my current health status. She walked me through my vitals explaining them to me.She listened to my concerns about my current health questions and addressed them with me by making referrals to the proper department. I thought Dr. Doe was very friendly and am happy to continue following up with her on a regular basis for primary care.
