About Me

As a family medicine physician, I provide a holistic, evidence-based approach to conventional medicine. I incorporate vitamins and supplements while working closely with patients to facilitate positive lifestyle and dietary changes. I am very passionate about helping my patients achieve the optimal level of health and independence that comes with reduced prescription medications and weight loss. I have helped many of my patients improve the state of chronic conditions and even exceed their health care goals. I believe everyone is capable of improving their physical and emotional health dramatically with the right evidence-based care and dedicated support.

I enjoy working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because of the access to a vast network of resources and research. At The Ohio State University Center for Integrative Medicine, I've learned that the most effective path to wellness is through what we call "life-changing medicine," which works to align lifestyle and behavior for the achievement of optimal health.

When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, practicing yoga and meditation, gardening, swimming, enjoying nature and exploring new healthy recipes.

My care provider, though a lovely person, did not know how to deal with the issue I came to see her for. After referring me to the person in her office, a dietitian, who actually had the expertise, she continued to try to give me treatment and information for every possible health concern I might have or eventually develop for over an hour. Non of these were issues I have or came to see her for. She gave me no less than 20 handouts. The information in these handouts is common knowledge, but quite lengthy to read. I came to see her, and had spoken to the intake assistant, for a ketogenic diet to help with my epilepsy. She knew less than I do about ketogenic diets. She said there was very little research on them, although this has been researched in children for decades and there are numerous studies on adults. She gave me a handout on general diet. I am in perfect health in terms of my diet and told her multiple times I was there for a ketogenic diet. These diets are not what regular people eat. They are very heavy in fat and protein. The conversation on diet for a regular person was completely unnecessary as I regularly eat very well and balanced and have no health issues other than my epilepsy. Essentially, she wanted an hour and a half of my time and gave me no confidence about her medical expertise.
