About Me

I believe a commitment to wellness practices — which includes fostering loving relationships, regular exercise, healthy eating, mindfulness practices and allowing time for play — is the mainstay of healthy living. As an internal medicine physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I am passionate about helping my patients improve their overall wellness, prevent disease and manage chronic pain with lifestyle methods.

I diagnose and treat a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions in adults and children. For my pediatric patients, monitoring healthy growth and development is important. I also provide anticipatory guidance, such as information about what to expect as children and teens continue to grow.

When patients come to see me, they can expect a collaborative relationship. I prioritize getting to know each patient and understanding what matters most to them. My clinical interests include finding ways to improve communication with patients, and my research is focused on advancing medical education.

Having trained here at The Ohio State University for both medical school and residency, I came to appreciate the benefits of working at a large academic medical center as well as the joy of teaching. My role at Ohio State includes helping to train the next generation of physicians and I find this to be a rewarding part of the job.

I work closely with medical students and residents on a regular basis. I have also mentored internal medicine pediatrics residents for several years. In addition, I serve as the unit director of Ambulatory Internal Medicine for the third-year primary care clerkship and as an expert educator for Evaluation and Assessment with a focus on Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).

When I am not working, I love spending quality time with my family. My wife and kids and I enjoy talking, laughing, walking, playing and eating, especially outdoors.
