About Me

I’m a radiologist with a special focus on treating patients with lung cancer, as well as lung and cardiovascular illnesses. I was first trained in medicine at the University of São Paulo School of Medicine in São Paulo, Brazil. Immediately following medical school, I served one-year of mandatory military service as a medical officer at the Brazilian Air Force Academy where I gained valuable experience working with outpatient clinic patients.

Later I undertook several radiology fellowships at Northwestern University in Chicago and the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. I’ve published numerous journal articles in such publications as RadioGraphics, Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the European Journal of Radiology. Additionally I have presented abstracts, exhibits and presentations all over the world.

I’m proud to have been the recipient of several awards, including the Magna Cum Laude Merit Award at The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) 20th Annual Meeting and Exhibition. At The Ohio State University College of Medicine, I serve as an assistant professor of cardiovascular imaging.

Here at The James, patients come first and I enjoy working closely with my peers to provide the highest level of care. Their level of expertise and professionalism is unparalleled anywhere in the world.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/2017, Dr. Galizia has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
