As a nurse practitioner in women’s health, I have spent more than a decade in female pelvic medicine primarily treating urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. I perform urodynamics testing, pessary fitting and management, bladder instillations, sacral and tibial nerve stimulation, and medication management.
I’m passionate about helping my patients enjoy a better quality of life. For many women, incontinence and prolapse are sensitive subjects. Through years of experience, I have learned how to listen—often reading between the lines—to gather important clinical information from my patients. Through their health care journey, I try to be a sensitive and responsive partner in improving a patient’s symptoms.
Teaching has always been a passion for me—whether educating patients or instructing future medical providers. Working in an academic health care setting has allowed me to continue to hone those skills and pass on knowledge. I’m fortunate to be involved in all levels of academic instruction for our future doctors and nurses by working with medical students, residents, fellows and nurse practitioners.
In my free time, I enjoy walking in my neighborhood and hiking at metro parks with my family. Inside, I will spend time doing any number of fiber arts including cross stitch, crochet and quilting.
