About Me
Providing excellent, evidence-based, personalized care to my patients is my primary objective as an otolaryngologist. This level of care requires involving my patients in management plans and often collaborating with other staff and colleagues at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Ohio State's leaders are on the cutting edge of medicine and medical education. It's a joy to work with other specialists to care for patients, but I also enjoy every opportunity to teach residents and students. One of my main motivations to practice academic medicine is to influence and shape future doctors, which has led to many roles within the College of Medicine.
My own practice has been shaped by providing services to patients that otherwise may not be available such as sublingual immunotherapy and minimal invasive salivary gland procedures using sialoendoscopy. I understand the challenges that patients face and make every effort, professionally and personally, to ease their concerns and provide comprehensive care.
In my free time, I love to read, travel, watch movies, attend Ohio State football games and relax with my family.

Dr Schofield took history of my recent problem, carefully looked at my nose (seeing her for nose bleeds). Explained what she was doing and what to expect.
Nice and understanding. I was very nervous and she helped to calm me
I did not have a good experience with Dr. Schofield. Firstly, when she came into the room she did NOT introduce herself. Her demeanor was not warm and welcoming. I didn't feel listened to and she kind of made me feel stupid as I was explaining my problems/medical history. I also feel like I wasted a trip because she came to a conclusion in seconds. I could've gathered this conclusion on my own. For example, she asked " so do you want ear tubes or no". She didn't give much recommendations based on her professional opinion.
This Doctor was a referral for a specific problem ,not someone I usually see
In my opinion I felt as if I asked a question that I wasn't sure of, the look on the providers face says that's a dumb question. Lacked the empathy or compassion that would make someone feel comfortable enough to ask questions. Excellent surgeon I am certain but lacks the bedside manner.
Dr. Schofield was excellent. I was especially impressed by how much time she took with me and that she looked carefully at my ears, nose and throat. Looking forward to her being my ENT specialist.
I tried to summarize the information provided from doctor and there were several parts of miscommunication. Wished the dr did a better job explaining information in simpler terms.
She explained things very well and took out some of the anxiety I have regarding this procedure
The provider had poor bedside manner and came across as cold. My mom was with me and when the provider walked in she immediately started speaking to me and did not address my mom in anyway. Initially the procedure was to have been done in the OR, but due to the high cost I rescheduled to have it done in the office. When the provider came in she began asking me why things were switched.
All was excellent
Very caring, highly professional and talented!!!
Dr Scolfield really care's about my health , Awsome Dr !!
Excellent provider very professional listed intently explain things a great detail and would do it more than once if needed
She was up to date on my medical history and why I was there.
Dr. Schofield is always very attentive and patient. Thoroughly listens to my concerns and provides feedback. She is kind, professional and very knowledgeable. Always a great experience.
Dr. Was thorough in her examination and informative of options of continuing care.
Dr Schofield is a talented physician. She has removed 3 lymph nodes for me in 4 years enabling my harmonic Doc to plan my cancer care. She is my hero.
I was surprised to find Minka having the complete opposite demeanor from what I had experienced with the nurse/assistants. She came across very cold and barely cracked a smile no matter how friendly I continue to be and just couldn't get the same in return. When I couldn't answer what had been on an allergy test of mine from 10+ years ago her tone a/ response made me feel likewell an idiotoverall I felt like she was quick to say my issues were acid reflux and being pregnant vs actually doing an endoscopy to confirm no blockage or anything else to truly give a diagnosis. I felt brushed off and was sent out with directions to get a nasal spray, Pepcid, and to change my diet.
She doesn't seem to care. She just came in and said "What question did you want me to answer?" I think this is unprofessional, she didn't let me speak much and she acts as if the things that concern me are silly. She made me feel dumb and she just said there was nothing she could do for my problem. She comes off rude and uninterested. I don't feel comfortable with her.
Excellent intervention paid attention to details and listened carefully to my questions and concerns.
Good listener, not hurried , addressed concerns
Total professional
Very good
Care provider was excellent.
Best provider ever.
First time meeting. Listened and understood my needs. Was on time and provided excellent care.
She listened to me and explained my health concerns.
Dr. Schofield was warm, prompt, thorough, already had a plan and I couldn't ask for a better doctor for this problem.
Dr. Schofield was very professional. Clearly explained what she was doing and clearly stated plans for my care. I was very impressed and pleased.
Seems very knowledgeable
Reviewed my issue, explained the procedure being done, what to expect, follow up. Listened to my concerns as I have adhesive allergy & problems with tapes. I feel comfortable with her. The manner she discusses things, invites questions, comments and participation by the patient is really excellent.
She was very attentive and explained things very well
Excellent as always

I feel like Dr. Schofield doesn't fully listen or care. Maybe it's her personality, not certain..
Excellent doctor.
She was very professional and knowledgeable
Was very knowledgeable about my condition and address my concerns brought things to my attention that I didn't even realize
Excellent care. She answered all my concerns.
Dr Schofield helped me to understand my condition more thoroughly than any previous ENT I'd seen. I came away enlightened -almost gratified that someone really understood my concerns and had answers.
Nothing was wrong
I have known her for 10 years, always looking forward to discuss health issues with this provider.
Friendly and knowledgeable
Very direct and covered all questions. Gave me options for treatment plan and explained things well. Was reassured regarding my medical concerns. Definitely trust her for my care.
Very friendly and knowledgeable
She was a great listener and gentle when cleaning my ears.
Dr. Schofield provided outstanding care and was incredibly responsive when I had a concern following my surgery. She took exceptional care of me and went above and beyond to ensure I was well cared for.
Outstanding professional. She provided me management guidelines. Very caring and compassionate!
She seemed very knowledgeable and went over several things with me during the visit. She was all business during my visit. No small talk or chatting at all.
The doctor was very patient with me and explained every detail of my problem and prescribed medication and asked me to see in few more weeks. She is attentive and was really nice.
Very thoughtful, explained to me and made sure I understood things.
Had test that with unexpected results. Spent time explaining and showing me the results and what next steps are.
She was thorough and knowledgeable but I felt dismissed. She handed me a handout and that was that. I felt like I wasted her time.
Great doctor! I was an "add on" to her daily schedule and she spent plenty of time with me to hear my comments, problems, and concerns. She was extremely thorough in her examination and provided treatment protocols that have treated my symptoms effectively. Very grateful for her!
She was professional, but friendly and made me feel confident in her knowledge.
I do not sense she is strong at putting people at ease. I can tell she is a great medical practitioner and very smart, but she's not friendly or warm in communication.. I left leave feeling like I've just paid a copay and billed my insurance to spend a few mins with her and not leave knowing more than when I came. She doesn't explain anything beyond the questions you ask, so if you don't know what to ask, you leave with incomplete information.
Congenial, respectful, and knowledgeable
Her bedside manor is something to be worked on. Comes in and never says hello, how are you nothing in a friendly way. We had a discussion about my issues after my cleaning, but wasn't too concerned which I was.
Seemed very knowledgeable, little hard to hear/understand with mask on
Professional, responses given on a timely manner, helped me understand my condition with thorough explanation.
Dr. Schofield is personable, caring, a very good listener and very easy to talk to. She takes the time to talk and I never feel rushed. She always addresses all my concerns and questions, fully explaining everything in a manner that I can easily understand. She empowers me with knowledge so I can make the best decision for myself in terms of options for improving my hearing.
Dr. Schofield is such an excellent provider.
Very nice & intelligent Dr.
Very good.
Dr. Minka, L. Schofield was professional and explain everything to where I understood it & she didn't mind when I had it repeated.
Always excellent!
I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Schofield. She is very knowledgeable and always puts my concerns at ease. She is a true gem!
Staff and receptionists/schedulers pleasant, respectful and knowledgeable.
I found the care given at the office to always be exceptional.
The care provider made time to do a biopsy without having to reschedule me for another appointment in the same week.
She was not very personable with me, seemed tired/bored when interacting with me.
Dr. Schofield showed concern for my condition and referred me to the right therapist for vertigo. She also removed a lesion in my nose. This was a follow-up.
Always professional and relatable. Shows geniuine concern. If I could give her a higher rating, I would I have complete confidence in her.
Listens & cares.
