I became a transplant infectious disease specialist because it’s a privilege to help organ transplant patients get back on their feet. For me, there’s nothing better than seeing a patient rebound after their previously failing organ function has improved and they can get back to their normal lives. Organ transplantation is the ultimate team sport and I love being part of it.
In my role, I specialize in preventing and treating any infections that could occur before, during and after organ transplant surgery. My research is focused on best strategies for treating infectious complications related to solid organ transplantation, and on fungal infections in lung transplant recipients.
Medical care is extremely complex and can be overwhelming for patients. My patients trust me to discuss their unique health situations in the clearest manner possible so they understand all of their options. I want them to feel empowered to make shared decisions with their physicians in order to achieve the best outcomes possible.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my wife, Anna, and our frequently misbehaving golden retriever, Biscuit.
Please note: Not all physicians schedule patients at each listed location.
I am passionate about medical education. I served as the chief fellow for education as I completed my own training. I love the growth opportunities at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and I’m looking forward to expanding transplant infectious diseases education for our fellows, residents and medical students.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
