Biography

As a hepatology nurse practitioner at Ohio State, I primarily see patients with chronic liver disease, viral hepatitis and cirrhosis. Nursing provides opportunities in several different areas and allows me to make positive changes in people’s lives.

I think it’s important to educate my patients as much as possible. The more time I spend with them in the clinic discussing their disease process, medications and treatments, the more likely they are to make a positive change in their lives. Also, I believe it’s important to truly listen to each patient, make eye contact and let him or her know that I am giving 100 percent of my attention during that 15 to 20-minute clinic visit.

The best part about working at Ohio State are the people who work here. I also enjoy the diversity of working in an academic medical center environment.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending my free time running, biking and going to the beach.
