About Me
As a family medicine physician, I love taking care of patients of all ages and from all walks of life. I enjoy working with patients and families to optimize their health by providing preventive care and managing illness. I also have a special interest in women’s health, including contraception management. I understand that each patient is unique, and believe in tailoring evidence-based medicine to fit individualized care plans. Because of this, I always encourage my patients to ask questions and take an active role in understanding their health care.
In my free time, I love rock climbing, hiking, gardening, traveling and exploring more of Columbus.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 10/25/2021, Dr. Halvorsen has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
Awesome!
Good.
Patient, informative, and efficient.
Nothing but good.
I felt that Dr. Halvorfen listened and respected me as a person. I felt like we were a team acting to keep me in good health, not like she was making unilateral decisions.
Dr. Halversen is BEYOND wonderful as my primary care doctor! On top of EVERYTHING!
Easy to talking to
Great listener and provides advice.
I'm glad Dr. R. Halvorsen is my provider. My overall health has gotten better because of her!!! I trust her.
Nothing bad to say.
Very nice!
Good.
She lacks empathy. She can come off arrogant when you speak to her. She bruises off my medical concerns because I lack medical knowledge. I don't enjoy seeing her but my other provider left and it's had to find a new primary care provider.
very professional, listened to my concerns and addressed them.
Everything good.
Excellent.
She spoke very loudly as soon as she entered the room. i accidentally knocked the sanitary napkin thing off the table when getting my gown on and she didn't replace it. She also entered the room and said "you have a lot of concerns, we can either do preventive care or chronic, or bill for both". It instantly made me not want to talk about my concerns and feel cornered
Good - knowledgeable, concern, personable
she always give me the best suggestions and a good care what I expect
Very attentive/first time with this doctor.
Dr. Halvorsen is AMAZING!! I had the same dr. for 28 years & was very nervous. Dr. Halvorsen discovered new health issues, changed around my meds & worked diligently to get me improving! She is also now my husband's primary care!
explain things that she plan to do
great. first time meeting her
In general she is good because she explain my health problem how this happened and what we can do for it.
She is explicit and attentive. Overall nice.
She listened to everything I needed to say. She was very helpful in explaining things I should know about my situation.
this was my first visit with Dr. Halvorsen but I was happy with her care and she took a lot of time to answer my questions and concerns. She seemed to really care about me as a patient.
the provider talked to me thoroughly about everything
Excellent
Good.
This was my first seeing this doctor. This was a new patient appointment.
Needs more hand sanitizer washing.
she listened to all my concerns. didn't brush concerns off as being due to my age or weight issues.
she was thorough and efficient, kind
Was patient & knowledgeable about my concerns.
The doctor was very attentive and asked questions.
very good
