Biography
I currently work in the AfterHours Care Clinics as well as in the Physician Advisor program. I'm a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed my emergency medicine residency at Summa Akron City Hospital.
I served as The Ohio State University Department of Emergency Medicine Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs for many years. I retired in 2014 and was appointed professor emeritus. My academic and research interests include environmental emergencies, disaster preparedness, hyperbaric medicine, testing and simulation technology, and medical-legal and legislative issues in emergency medicine.
I have served as president of the Ohio Chapter American College of Emergency Physicians, president of the Columbus Medical Association, and delegate from Ohio to the American Medical Association House of Delegates. I was president of the American Board of Emergency Medicine in 2011-2012 where I also chaired the Initial Certification Task Force and the Test Development Committee.
