About Me

I am a board-certified anesthesiologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where I serve as the Jay J. Jacoby MD, PhD, Professor and Chair of the Anesthesiology Department. I specialize in providing anesthesia care for a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative experience.

My patients can rely on me for high quality, compassionate care and honest communication in every encounter. I collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of skilled experts to ensure each patient receives personalized care tailored to their unique needs and values.

In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about advancing the field of anesthesiology through education, research, and leadership. I completed my medical degree, internship and residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston. I am board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. I also received additional formal training in education, business and ethics at Harvard.

My NIH-funded research is focused on reducing opioid use in surgical patients and looking for ways to more effectively monitor patients in the hospital. My Research Group is collaborating on developing and testing innovative technology to improve respiratory monitoring and improve patient outcomes. I have published over 600 peer-reviewed papers and edited several anesthesiology textbooks.
