About Me
I am a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in helping patients who are experiencing problems with their hands, arms and wrists. The most common upper extremity conditions I treat include peripheral nerve compressions like carpal or cubital tunnel, tendinopathies like “trigger finger,” and tendinitis and arthritis of the hand/wrist. I also care for patients with traumatic injuries like fractures, dislocations and sprains, as well as extensive wounds or burns to the upper extremities.
My patients can trust they’ll be treated with dignity and respect. I strive to create and maintain a trusting and comfortable relationship with all my patients. I genuinely want the best for every person who comes to see me, and that includes working collaboratively with each patient to select a treatment plan that suits their individual needs and values.
I have always been passionate about the reconstructive possibilities within the field of plastic surgery. Hand and upper extremity surgeries can have a profound impact on patients because we are incredibly dependent upon the use of our hands for daily tasks. It’s a privilege to use my skills to help improve my patients’ form and function, and ease their pain levels. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a world-class organization where patients from all walks of life receive exceptional, compassionate care, and it’s an honor to be part of this institution.
In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, medical students, and surgical trainees at The Ohio State University. Our students and trainees — particularly our hand surgery fellows and the orthopedic and plastic surgery residents — offer first-rate care to our patients. It’s an honor to participate in their education and mentorship.
When I’m not working, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I love hiking, sports, traveling, music and spending time with my wonderful family.

Your process runs like a well oiled machine my local doctor had no idea what the issue with my finger was and was going to refer me to a plastic surgeon. By the time she did OSU had already seen me, diagnosed and treated my problem.

It was the first time I met him. And he was very nice and listened to everything I said!
Did not wait long. Dr. Brown knew exactly what I was talking about with my thumb, explained the condition and treatment options clearly and made sure I understood my choices in further treatment. Everything was done efficiently and with the utmost care. He did the injection himself, and got me wrapped up and out of there in a few minutes. I like his style of communication and thorough yet quick care.

No issues at all
Besides he explained the steps in the surgery with detail.
Very professional & knowledgeable - took the time to explain everything & was concerned if I had any questions.
Seemed like he wasn't sure what was wrong but made his best guess. That's not too reassuring but at least it was optimistic.
He was very good and understood that being an older person, I have problems that younger people just don't get and don't care.
Received x-ray finding. Explained delay. Provided wrist-thumb brace. Dr. Brown gives good impression & interest to his patient. Thank you.
