About Me
I specialize in all types of liver diseases, including viral hepatitis and liver cancer, in addition to liver transplant care and advanced endoscopy. I treat patients with respect and take into account their level of understanding when explaining their disease process. I’m considerate about any limitations a patient may have and try to be flexible to meet their needs. I also make an effort to stay current with research and novel treatments in the field of liver disease so that I can give my patients the best care possible.
I have a passion for medical research, which was inspired by my mentors throughout higher education and medical training. Before shifting my attention to liver diseases, I studied esophageal motility disorders. However, now I find myself focused more on outcomes research in liver and biliary diseases. I also have a strong desire to teach and pass on valuable skills to the next generation of medical professionals. I’m actively engaged in teaching fellows as well as mentoring residents and medical students within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, volunteering, listening to music and reading books.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 10/25/2021, Dr. Jalil has reported no relationships with companies or entities.

Dr. Jalil was great. I prefer Dr. Hanje but mostly because I'm more familiar with him and he helped jump start my journey to transplant.
I have nothing to say bad about Dr. Jalil. He let me know he will find out what is wrong with me and he knew what tests I needed.

Fine.
Dr. Jalil was direct - it was very much appreciated.
Dr. Jalil was great. He was informed about my health issues and thoroughly listened and discussed my concerns and probable diagnosis. I left feeling positive about my issues.
I was well pleased. Dr. Sajid Salil was very pleasant, concerning about what is going on with me. He HEARD my words. did not cut me off or 'shrug his shoulders' at me for asking questions. I felt like he regarded me as a person. I left there feeling I was going to finally get answers and proper treatment after 6 years of this on going situation. His concern for another issue that was not even for him, touched me greatly. This needs addressed now. Thank you Dr. Jalil.I feel blessed.
