About Me
As a hepatologist at Ohio State, I treat patients with abnormal liver tests, hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver and other liver diseases. I am honored to be part of this interesting field and help patients through a potentially stressful part of their lives. I strive to provide very thorough and attentive care with a focus on every patient's individual goals. Establishing a friendly, trusting relationship with my patients is extremely important.
My favorite part about working here at Ohio State is interacting with so many different people. I enjoy helping people to understand their condition and achieve better health.
When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my wife, family and friends. I enjoy running, cross country skiing, music and watching sports of all kinds.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

Dr Kelly treats me for a very stigmatized condition but he goes out of his way to make sure I don't feel hopeless or ashamed. He always speaks to me with grace and kindness and answers my questions directly and in as much detail as I need. Both honest and encouraging which makes me trust his advice and direction more than any other HCP I've worked with

Dr Kelly was fantastic. This was my first visit to a hepatologist, after a diagnosis of Autoimmune Hepatitis. Dr Kelwas friendly and caring. He Spent a good deal of time explaining the disease and what I should expect. I left the appointment with much more confidence due to his information.

Sean Kelly is the best. It is difficult to schedule an appointment with him instead of a NP.
We discussed whether or not I was a good candidate for a new MASH therapy recently approved. Also discussed my risk factors and reasons for certain tests/monitoring to ensure early detection of potential issues so treatment can be implemented if needed quickly to address any risks

Dr Kelly is AMAZING! It was my 1st time seeing him, yet he had read my records THOROUGHLY & walked in the room with so much compassion & concern about my health issues this past year. He even asked if he could hug me & made me feel I was going to be OK!!! It's been an EXTREMELY DIFFICULT YEAR and still have a way to go but he put me TOTALLY AT EASE.
