About Me

As a neurologist, I specialize in the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke of the brain and spine as well as the management of critically ill patients in the neuro intensive care unit, including those suffering from intracerebral hemorrhage, traumatic brain and spine injury, acute neuromuscular illnesses, acute infections of the brain and spine, acute demyelinating conditions, seizures and central nervous system tumors. As a physician scientist, I am dedicated to providing the best possible care to my patients and my ultimate career goal is to improve the lives of millions of people with neurovascular diseases worldwide, through novel scientific discoveries related to brain collateral circulation.

As every person is unique, no two patients have the same presentation of a disease or respond exactly the same to a specific treatment. Therefore, I believe each patient deserves a unique management strategy and individualized care plan. I’m a strong believer in my patients’ right to advocate for themselves and I work with them as their physician partner to integrate their opinions and goals into the overall care plan. For me, it is an immensely gratifying and humbling experience to see a severely ill patient recover and resume a normal life. I am extremely passionate about making a difference in my patients' lives and that is what keeps me motivated each day.

I love being a part of the Ohio State family. The robust infrastructure and support from colleagues has helped me to provide excellent patient care as well as advance my research goals. I am grateful to belong to such a diverse and enriched community.

In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with my family, traveling, reading and spending time outdoors.
