Biography
As a sports medicine physician, I provide evidence-based, individualized care and take the time to get to know my patients and their unique conditions. I have found that educating individuals on their course of treatment and building confidence in the patient-physician relationship leads to the best outcomes. Because I’ve experienced several injuries throughout my own sports career, I’m better able to relate to what my patients are going through. I love seeing people improve and return to the activities that they love.
I enjoy working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center because of the special camaraderie that is shared among my colleagues. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with the next generation of physicians through various stages in the learning process.
In my free time I enjoy going to local sports events, concerts, the Columbus Zoo, local breweries, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. The first provider, Dr Baker, was excellent; listened well, explained during the examination, and provided important information about options. Then he said that Dr Albrechta would be coming in to do his examination and talk with me about his recommendations. When Dr Albrechta came in, the sense I had was that he was in a hurry and had already made his decision. He did a quick exam, said what the plan was, shook our hands, and left.

The doctor was fantastic. He did a really good job of listening to me, treating me with respect, and acting like he wanted to help me. I felt like he cared and wanted to help.

Dr. Albrecta was very thorough regarding options on if my hip bursitis did not respond well to Physical Therapy. He answered all my questions. I drive 5 hours to see him. I prefer OSU's technology and care over my small town's medical services.

He is very good, takes time with you
I was pleased to hear him say he had reviewed my records and recent X-ray and ultrasound. Upon physical exam of my knee, he immediately diagnosed an issue and assured me what I could do to minimize the recent aggravation and then strengthen the area. He also recommended an arthritic topical cream I could use in addition to the CBD ointment I have been using with great successthat was extremely healthful the last few days.
I would like to say thank Dr.Albretchta to see me on the same day. I fell after having a seizure and was having a lot of pain on my shoulder. Thank you very much, I really appreciated it.
