About Me
While I treat all conditions involving the digestive system, I specialize in diseases that affect how the gut moves (motility disorders) and problems with the food pipe (esophagus). I enjoy talking to patients, understanding their perspective and working with them to create an individualized treatment plan. In addition to my work with patients, I enjoy conducting research because it ultimately helps improve what I do on the clinical side too.
At Ohio State, I love the camaraderie among my colleagues and the focus on patient-centered care. People here are very friendly and do their best to help, which makes it special to work here.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading (am a big fan of Asterix and Obelix), painting, watching science fiction movies, biking and gardening.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2022, Dr. Chakraborty has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
This was my first meeting with him and I really liked him. He was thorough and took the time to listen to me and go over my history and issues.
He was awesome and gave me lots of options. The wait time was over a hour though
My first visit with him. He us very thourogh and offered many helpful suggestions.
He didn't really listen to me and did not give me a conclusive diagnosis. He seemed more interested in his research than in getting me a treatment plan. He focused on symptoms that weren't my main concerns (for example, he talked a lot about constipation, which was not why I was there).
He is excellent with everything but paperwork. He once responded to a MyChart message at 1 AM. I know how hard he works.
Excellent in the knowledge of gastroenterology !
Very kind and knowledgeable Dr.
Dr. Chokraborty is knowledgeable, kind, supportive, informative and skilled. He is the most devoted and compassionate physician I have ever seen at OSU and I am grateful to be his patient.
He is tentative and I feel really trying to get to the root of my problem. I did not review my test results yet with him.
He listened and took notes
The doctor was the best I have ever seen. I have seen many specialist the past 20 years.
Dr. Chakraboorty was very patient and kind; listened to what I said and had great insight. Ordered tests, trying a prescription. First-time appointment.
He didn't even do a physical exam. He seemed to disregard some of my symptoms.
Dr. Chakraborty listened carefully, explained plan of action, and compassionate.
Dr. Chakraborty is knowledgeable, patient, and takes the patient seriously.
I felt like he was pushing other services in the building (PT, surgery, etc.). Didn't take into account concurrent treatment for gynecological issue.
Good
Listen to everything I said about my problem and said that we will figure this out
The Doctor had a good grasp of previous testing from outside source . He also was a good listener and developed a plan of care .
Good listener- answered my questions-we made a plan
This is the first dr. that truly listened to my problems and did something about my issues. Amazing!
Dr. Chakraborty explained all the details about my condition of bowel disease. He also offered two tests that might improve my condition. He explained the tests and what we would do with the results. He explained why he did not think the neuropathy is in my bowels. He offered a new medication that would allow me to adjust the dose of my Linzess depending on how much I needed that day. His office is trying to get my insurance to ok that new medicine dose. Its important cause I get dehydrated some times.
Took the time to address all of my concerns; made sure all of my questions were answered.
Appreciate that he listened to and acknowledged my emotional concerns. Also appreciate that he took my entire health into consideration when making recommendations for tests, treatment, etc.
Very good experience
I was very impressed with Dr. Chakraburty. I felt very comfortable with him.
Very good @ explaining tests that he ordered for me. Please keep this type of surgery open to all patients! The cards flip. It has made a tremendous difference in my life! Please, please keep this surgery!!
Impressed with his concern with great PR.
He seems to be very know about my medical issues! I have great confidence in him!!
