About Me
I am a board-certified anesthesiologist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. I specialize in providing comprehensive anesthetic care for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the perioperative experience.
I am a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, did my anesthesia residency and Pain Management Fellowship at West Virginia University and did a Neuroanesthesia Fellowship at The Barrow Neurologic Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. I spent 30 years in private practice anesthesia before returning to Ohio State, with the last 21 years in the Santa Cruz, San Jose and San Francisco areas working in and managing ambulatory surgery centers. I specialize in ambulatory surgery center management (including facility billing, coding, collections and OR efficiency), point of care ultrasound and ultrasound guided regional anesthesia.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I am passionate about educating and mentoring the next generation of providers. I am an associate clinical professor of Anesthesiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I am the Anesthesia Clinical Operations Director for Ohio State’s first Ambulatory Surgery Center, Outpatient Care New Albany, and is the Associate Director of the Ambulatory Anesthesia Division of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 09/30/2024, Dr. Durick has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
