About Me

As a medical oncologist, I treat patients with kidney cancer and skin cancers such as melanoma, squamous cell, basal cell, Merkel cell and adnexal carcinomas. My clinical interests include participating in clinical trials for the development of targeted and immunologic therapy for kidney cancer and melanoma. I’m also a clinical professor of internal medicine for The Ohio State University.

I’m an active member of the Cytokine Working Group that develops biologic therapies for patients with melanoma and kidney cancer. I’m also a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) committees on non-prostate genitourinary and non-melanoma skin cancer.

In addition, I’m actively involved with the Melanoma Research Foundation’s Community United for Research and Education of Ocular Melanoma (CURE OM) and the International Rare Cancers Initiative (IRCI) ocular melanoma group.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/2017, Dr. Olencki has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
