About Me
As an anesthesiologist, I specialize in caring for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. I serve as Director of Critical Care for the Department of Anesthesiology, and I am the Education Director for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. I am proud to lead such an exceptional unit and help expand its clinical, academic and operational impact in ways that benefit our patients and communities.
I chose medicine, and anesthesiology in particular, because it combines technical precision with the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on patients’ lives. Whether in the operating room or the intensive care unit, I provide steady, evidence-based care that prioritizes patient safety, clear communication and compassion.
In addition to my clinical responsibilities, mentoring learners has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my academic career. It has shaped how I lead them, teach them and help them grow as professionals, reinforcing the importance of clarity, structure and lifelong learning in both clinical care and education. My current role includes helping to educate the next generation of physicians as an associate clinical professor of Anesthesiology in The Ohio State University College of Medicine. I also lead my department’s Resident Quality Improvement Program.
In addition, I am a nationally recognized educator and trusted expert in graduate medical training, with a focus on quality improvement and systems-based practices. I serve as a faculty educator for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s initiative called the Program Directors Patient Safety and Quality (PDPQ) Educators Network.
