About Me

My practice in obstetrics and gynecology includes collaborating with a diverse group of professionals and roles. As a faculty member, I am an educator who teaches students, residents and other physicians from all over the country.

As an obstetrician and gynecologist, I meet and care for a variety of people. I like to engage my patients and educate them about their care. This helps them to better understand what is going on, including their treatment choices.

I have always joked that the longest I ever had to wait for something is nine months (pregnancy). However, I find myself taking a more holistic approach to my medical practice. I focus on long-term health outcomes because my goal is to have women live to the fullest of their capacity.

Many of the patients at Ohio State are educated and engaged in their own health care. This makes it enjoyable to discuss treatment options with them and make good health care decisions.

After hours, I stay involved and active with my family. We especially enjoy visiting new places.

My provider exceeded my expectations. He was able to explain and provide resources to me about my health concerns. He went over everything with me and my guest.

Dr Trout explained everything to me and offered me options. He took the time to understand me and walked me through the visit as things were happening. Very professional and apologized for running behind.

Dr. Trout is very gentle and explains everything so well. He took my concerns and questions seriously and did not rush me. He took time to project future care so I would know what to expect. I highly recommend him!

This was the easiest and most positive experience at a docs office I've ever had

  • Reviewed on Aug 02, 2025

This provider was the worst doctor I ever had. He had his own agenda for the visit and trying to address the least important issues for me. I was there to have a management plan for a chronic illness instead of offering that, he was only concerned about my fertility/sex life since I mentioned that I was newly married. My Pap smear was the most traumatic experience during this visit since he kept on going even when I said to stop due to pain. No apology was Issues or any word from the doctor during the procedure for not listening to me or why he had to keep on going with the procedure -this was highly inexcusable. Overall, I felt like the doctor was not addressing my needs for the visit at all and did not respect personal believes at all

    Good

Dr. Trout is amazing. I trust him and his opinion more than any other physician on my team. When I came to him years ago, it was because an OB/GYN was not caring, made mistakes, and refused to admit them. Dr. Trout was recommended for me on the scheduling line and I am grateful for him. He is thorough and the ONLY care provider I've ever had who cares about my privacy and keeping me at ease. I trusted him during my infertility journey and pregnancy journey. I recomend him to every female I know. I especially appreciate that he does his exam and then has me dress to talk. I've never had a gynecologist do that and I feel like I can really express my worries and concerns.
