Since 2014, TEAM OHIO STATE has participated in the American Heart Association's (AHA) annual Heart Walk to support the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke.

In August 2025, the 30th annual AHA Heart Walk achieved a record level of participation. Team Ohio State was once again recognized as the largest team at the event on August 16, with over 4,200 participants. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center continued its role as the Live Fierce sponsor, demonstrating ongoing commitment to this initiative. This family- and pet-friendly event attracted approximately 15,000 attendees, who took part in one- and three-mile course options. Brutus Buckeye contributed significantly to the occasion by encouraging walkers and leading a hands-only CPR instructional session.
