Since 2014, TEAM OHIO STATE has participated in the American Heart Association's (AHA) annual central Ohio Heart Walk to support the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke.

The 31st annual AHA central Ohio Heart Walk drew record Buckeye participation in 2026, with TEAM OHIO STATE once again recognized as the event’s largest team with more than 5,200 participants. The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center continued its role as the Live Fierce sponsor, reinforcing its commitment to the initiative. The family- and pet-friendly event welcomed about 15,000 attendees for one- and three-mile routes, with Brutus Buckeye energizing walkers and leading a hands-only CPR demonstration.

What a powerful day to be a Buckeye! TEAM OHIO STATE made history at the AHA 2026 Central Ohio Heart Walk with its largest team ever – 5,200 registered walkers – coming together for a cause that touches so many lives. Thank you to every walker, volunteer, donor and supporter who helped make this milestone possible. Together, we raised more than $116,000 for heart-related research!
