About Me
As an integrative health physician at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I specialize in osteopathic medicine. I treat patients for both acute and chronic pain concerns. I can address some of the mental health concerns that can come up with pain or trauma issues, such as anxiety and depression. I also work with infants and parents who are struggling with body or bottle-feeding difficulties.
I am interested in mind-body practices, health promotion, comprehensive medicine and how chronic conditions affect the musculoskeletal system. It’s inspiring to see patients who are grounded in the daily, sometimes difficult, work of making healthy choices for themselves and their families, and I am committed to supporting them along the way. I am currently accepting only infants and children as new patients.
My role includes helping to educate the next generation of providers. I am an assistant clinical professor of Family and Community Medicine in The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

This doctor fills a huuuuuge gap in healthcare model as I've experienced it. Treating chronic pain+movement limitations usually ends up as:"come to an evaluation, go to PT, see you in 6 months."Then the PT has limited set of knowledge or skills and minimal coordination with physician. Then back to the doctor, "Oh that didn't work? Maybe an MRI and rinse, repeat."Be able to consult with this doctor more regularly lets me get so much more value out of physical therapy visits. In many cases, I find this doctor more useful than PT to achieve certain movement goals.
Dr. Welsh is calm & caring. I feel comfortable bringing my health concerns to her. She is ALWAYS encouraging.
