OSU SPINE SURGERY GROUP CHOSEN FOR COLLABORATION

Safdar N. Khan, MD and the Division of Spine Surgery in OSU Department of Orthopaedics have been selected to be part of the International Consortium of Health Outcomes Measures (ICHOM), a group of academic medical centers from around the world collaborating to define and promote value- and outcome-based clinical care for degenerative spinal conditions. Only seven other medical centers in the United States were invited to be part of this international consortium. The Division of Spine Surgery will track the success of patients with degenerative spinal conditions that utilize a variety of different treatment modalities. Participation in this consortium will allow these select organizations to begin implementing best practices for patients in real-time, rather than waiting for the final results to be shared publicly.
