COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center will hold its first annual Healthy Community Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Schottenstein Center, 555 Borror Drive. The event will feature free health screenings and health expertise from over 50 organizations.
The event focuses on medical areas of needs identified by the Franklin County health department and hospitals: infant mortality, psychiatric and addiction, obesity, diabetes, chronic conditions and infectious disease.
The health screenings and consultations will be provided by experts from Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, and include:
- Height, weight and body mass index
- Blood pressure
- Food and nutrition
- Functional movement
- General health consultation
- Hearing
- Medication review
- Vision
- Smoking cessation
- Sports physicals
- Stroke awareness
On-site registration, available until 2 p.m., is required for the screenings. Refreshments and activities will be available for the whole family, including live fitness and cooking demonstrations, free food, giveaways, raffles and dancing.
