COLUMBUS, Ohio – For demonstrating an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion, Insight Into Diversity magazine has awarded the 2024 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award to seven health sciences graduate programs at The Ohio State University.
The HEED Award went to the College of Dentistry, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Optometry, College of Pharmacy, College of Public Health and College of Veterinary Medicine. Ohio State is the only academic institution in the country to have seven graduate programs recognized.
“Enabling success for students and faculty of all backgrounds helps ensure our research, clinical care and future practitioners can be best equipped to serve diverse communities and patient populations,” said Karla Zadnik, OD, PhD, interim executive vice president and provost. “I am proud that Ohio State’s health sciences colleges enable all to fully participate in the life of our campuses.”
The HEED Award is a national honor recognizing U.S. health colleges and universities. Applicants undergo a comprehensive and rigorous review of diversity and inclusion initiatives for students and employees.
Ohio State will be featured in the November/December 2024 issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine.
