COLUMBUS, Ohio – Light Ohio Blue will make a stop at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to recognize the health care workers on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19 on Friday (5/8) at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Light Ohio Blue is an annual event to honor police officers. Each year, a caravan of approximately 50 police cruisers drives the 270 loop. During their stop at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, police will have their emergency beacons on and park their cruisers for five minutes and salute the hospital.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. The Light Ohio Blue campaign coincides with activities associated with Police Week. This year’s dates are Friday, May 8 to Friday, May 15.

Media interested in covering this event should contact Light Ohio Blue for details.
